Share with us your history of life in Anita for our 2025 history book. If you have made Anita your home at any time, and especially in the last 25 years, please submit your family history, stories/memories of life in Anita, photos of Anita or the history of your business/organization by using one of the options below.

Family History Submissions - Due by October 1, 2024
The Sesquicentennial Committee is collecting family histories for those who have made Anita their home at any time, and especially in the last 25 years, to update our town history in the 2025 History Book.
You may submit 3 photos of your family. All photos may not be used due to picture quality or space availability in the book. We will do our best to include all photos.
To maintain image quality of physical photographs, photos/images can be scanned at the Anita Public Library or the Anita Tribune and then uploaded using one of the submission options below.
Submission options:
Family History Submission Form can be used in two ways. No sign in needed.
Answer the family history questions and upload your family photos.
Upload your self-written family history Word document along with your family photos.
Email the Anita Tribune at gandrews@midlands.net with your written family history along with your family photos.
Stories/Memories Submissions - Due by October 1, 2024
Whether they are your own personal memories, or a story passed down through the generations of your family, please submit your favorite memories/stories of Anita. Your name will be included with your story in the history book.
Cheryl McCaskey may also include part of your story in the fictional storybook of Anita that she is creatively writing to tell "the story of life in Anita through the years", which will also be in the history book. For more information, click on this link Storybook Submissions.

The Stories/Memories Submission Form also has the option to upload your written stories/memories Word document file towards the bottom of the form.

Anita Photo Submissions - Due by November 1, 2024
Submit your favorite photographs of Anita or events held in Anita that bring good memories!
We would love to have photos from/of:
the last 25 years to document the latest town history
the 2000 Anita Quasquicentennial Celebration
the 1975 Anita Centennial Celebration
Anita’s downtown and the Bandshell
any photo that represents Anita’s history (non-family specific)
Family photos should be submitted with your Family History.
Not all photographs submitted can be used in the 2025 Anita History Book, however, the History Book Committee will do our best to include as many as possible. Photographs may also be used at the Sesquicentennial Celebration.
For all photos/images:
Please ensure that you have permission from anyone that is shown in a photo.
Please name the photo file with the subject in the photo and your name included. (example: bandshell_joe smith.jpg)
If submitting photos from a cell phone, please submit photos in the highest resolution possible (original size).
All images should be in JPG format.
Physical photographs - photos/images can be scanned at the Anita Public Library or Anita Tribune and submitted using one of the options below.
*Photo captions - Please provide a caption for the photo by identifying who is in the photo with full names or what the subject is and when/where it was taken.

Anita Business/Organization History Submissions
We will continue to accept information for brand new businesses and organizations.

Businesses – We will be taking a photo of your building or sign at a later date. You may submit a group photo of employees and/or business owners. We cannot guarantee both will be used in the history book.
Organizations – You may submit two photos to represent your organization. We cannot guarantee both will be used in the history book.
To maintain image quality of physical photographs, photos/images can be scanned at the Anita Public Library or the Anita Tribune and then uploaded using the Anita Business/Organization History Form or emailed to the Anita Tribune at gandrews@midlands.net.
